Elstow Lodge was opened in 1988 by Audrey as a private residential Care Home and has remained in the family for over 30 years. The Home is now owned and managed by her daughter Julie with her husband Paul. Being established to offer accommodation for 10 Adults with a Learning Difficulty enables a personalised and professional service to be delivered in a warm and friendly environment that its residents can proudly call their home. 

The Home’s Location in the village of Elstow offers a blend of enjoyable activities and pursuits with the chance for the residents to live a relaxing lifestyle within a sociable community. The Home stands within large walled grounds which ensures both security and privacy and a very pleasant environment.

The location also benefits from being within a short bus or taxi ride from the town of Bedford with its excellent facilities including cinemas, restaurants, swimming pools and shopping.

All residents are offered access the local Day Centres with transport arranged on each working day. Alternatively, structured home days are offered to develop and help achieve their life choices and to reach their full potential whilst in the comfort of their own home.

Our team of long serving Staff aspire to bring compassion and experience to every aspect of their work by providing high quality, professional and person-centred care to each of the residents. It is their aim to help the residents lead happy and dignified lives and to remain as self-reliant and independent as possible. 

We are also pleased to offer a respite facility for the occasions when a short period of in-house support would be beneficial.
